BOY, 9, LEFT WITH 'SERIOUS' INJURIES AFTER E-BIKE PLOUGHS INTO HIM

A little boy has been left with serious injuries after an e-bike rider crashed into his pedal bike and fled the scene.

The boy, nine, was riding his bike when he was hit by an electric Sur-Ron or Talaria-type bike on the street.

CCTV footage captured the hit-and-run in Swansea, South Wales, which showed the rider leave the scene.

The rider is described as a white male, wearing a black bobble hat, a black and white chequered top with a grey hood, blue tracksuit trousers and trainers.

The young boy was left with serious injuries after the collision on Friday, June 21 at 3.30pm and has since had to have surgery, police say.

A statement from South Wales Police said: 'A nine year old boy was riding his pedal cycle on Ffordd y Brain, Blaenymaes Swansea, where he was struck by an electric surron / Talaria type bike being ridden from the direction of Pentregethin road towards Middle Road.

'The rider of the Electric bike has failed to stop, leaving the child with serious injuries (which have since required surgery), and left the scene returning towards the direction of Pentregethin Road.

'The collision has been captured on CCTV and there are a number of persons who are known to be in the area at the time who may have witnessed the rider of the electric bike.'

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the road traffic collision, or who can help identify the rider, to get in touch with the force using reference: 2400205384.
