PAK LAH ADMITTED TO IJN, CONDITION IS STABLE SAYS FAMILY

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has been warded at the National Heart Institute after experiencing trouble with his lungs on Thursday (April 25).

His son-in-law Khairy Jamaludin in a statement said Abdullah was admitted after being diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax.

"He is still in the critical care unit of the institute to be monitored by doctors and is in stable condition.

"Alhamdulillah, he is in good condition but in need of sufficient rest.

"I represent the family appreciate prayers and well wishes for him but the institute has advised that no visitors should be allowed at time being," said Khairy.

Abdulllah, 85, served as the country's fifth Prime Minister from 2003 to 2009.
