ANWAR ANNOUNCES RM200,000 ALLOCATION FOR PERAK’S SIKH COMMUNITY

IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a RM200,000 allocation for the welfare of the Sikh community in Perak.

He said the Madani government did not discriminate against any race or religion where poverty is concerned.

“We must help the poor and the hardcore poor.

“I cannot accept that the hardcore poor have not enough to eat, or children are unable to go to schools.

“It's our (government’s) duty that every single person is protected,” he said in his speech at the state-level Vesakhi Day open house held at Stadium Indera Mulia here on Saturday (May 4).

Anwar said it was important to preserve the rights of every single Malaysian and honour their faith and beliefs.

“Never take this (unity) for granted. We need to preserve this. There are a small number of minorities trying to sow the seed of discord among the races.

“The majority of us decided to form Malaysia as a formidable force, and I am confident that the country will rise in the Asian region,” he added.
